The Measure Of A Man

How do you measure the worth of a man?
Do you measure his hands and feet?
Do you measure his waist size or how big his pockets are?
Can you measure a man’s worth by how tall he is or how strong he is?

Can we measure a man by the length and width of his arms, is it because of all the many babies he carried and raised?

If his back is broad and bent is it because of his heavy lifting and constructing generations of stability?

Can we measure him by his sunken and clear eyes because of all the tears he cried because he loves us all, so much?

Can we measure a man by his feet? If his feet are rigid and worn is it because of all the many miles he walked and worked to provide for his family?
What about his pockets being empty? Can we measure a man’s worth because he gave all he had to anyone who needed it?

The truth of it is…
If we could measure the worth of Man by all the many meals he selflessly cooked, we could feed all that are hungry.

If we could measure the smiles and grins that he gave every time he saw his loved ones we could cross the world, over 10 times.

If we could measure his love.. his deep relentless love. His commitment. His struggle for love.. His unconditional love..his model… his message…

If we could measure his love for Women, his Mother, his Sister, his Daughter, and his Spouse; that love that he has taught, reflected, and told us so much about.. we all would be happier, healthier, and wealthier.

If we could measure the love he has for other Men, his respect for his brother, his gentleness to his son, and his compassion for his father…we would all be more confident, more self-assured, and more secure in our own being.

There is no real way to measure Man’s worth..but if we could echo it, if we could give it a word, it would be “Father”

Happy Father’s Day!

Mantra

I am so grateful for all of the great Men in my life! I am blessed to have powerful and loving examples of Manhood.
